I took a slow, painful breath, and I asked him a very simple question.
“Where’s the pen?”
Harold’s eyes widened just a little.
He had clearly expected tears, begging, or a long argument.
He did not expect quiet surrender.
“You… you’re really going to sign?” he asked, his voice faltering for the first time.
